Events
have kept Swift Level active for years. Each season provides a background
for outdoor and indoor use. Summer and fall are prime time for lovely
evening skies filled with stars, fireflies, cool air and the occasional
sounding owl.
Swift Level has hosted weddings, fund raising events, corporate
and individual retreats, youth programs, lodging and its internationally
acclaimed horse ride through the mountains. Featured articles in
Southern Living, Bon Appetite, Country Living, Spur and Washingtonian
have covered our lodging and riding over the years. In the glory
days of Morlunda Farms, this property was covered by Life Magazine,
National Geographic and The New York Times along with countless
articles in numerous other publications.
Swift Level has provided complete private property use for high
profile individuals and groups seeking solace and anonymity from
a fast paced and sometimes intrusive world. Cool, misty mornings
have catered in a reprieve for photographers and writers from all
over the world.
Many a festive evening have been recipient to the beautiful interior
structure of the Main House as it graciously offers warmth and timeless
beauty from the 1820’s Rumford fireplaces and ornate hand
carved 6’ mantles. The Main House has 8 original fireplaces,
each hand carved by a local artisan in the early 1800’s. The
Main House is on The Register of Historic Places.
The
Greenbrier Valley and surrounding area is an abundant resource of
natural and organic foods. Most everything is available on a seasonal
basis via wonderful local farmers markets. A variety of vegetables
and fruits, lamb, beef, poultry, trout, cheeses, maple syrup, honey,
locally milled corn meal and buckwheat and local wineries are but
a small sampling of what is available. The diversity of the population
provides for those who might prefer a private chef or the talents
of our many local private caterers, musical accompaniment, dance
companies, massage and complete home and property need services
to list a few. Basically, we live in a very unique part of the country
and have so much to offer, even to the most discriminating personality.
The Greenbrier Valley is a very capable community and our new neighbors
throughout are proving that this area offers something very well
worth coming to.
